Secondary buyers continue to show lukewarm interest in bidding for stakes in second-hand private-equity funds focused on the oil-and-gas sector, despite rising energy prices over the past year, it has emerged.

 

Takeaway:

The volume of buyout secondary deals involving energy funds increased by just over 30% to $294m last year, well below the annual average of $826m to $1.77bn registered between 2014 and 2019, figures compiled by transaction intermediary Setter Capital show.
