U.S. “junk” bond funds attracted net inflows worth almost $6.8bn in July, following a difficult a few months earlier this year, according to data published by Morningstar Direct.
Takeaway:
As of August 10, high-yield bonds currently were paying an interest of 7.29%, significantly higher than the 4.42% they offered in early January, as per the ICE Bank of America U.S. High-Yield Index. In comparison, the 7-year U.S. Treasury bond yielded about 2.86% as of August 10.
