September 22, 2022

News Digest:

Carbon capture technologies saw the highest-ever venture capital action during the second quarter of 2022 where 11 deals mopped up $882.2 million investments. The sustained global interest is also encumbered on the pressures created by regulatory action and incentives provided by governments across the world.

Carbon removal technologies have existed for some years now, but the landscape for some of the recent innovations are relatively new and contain multiple approaches around reducing energy requirements in an economy. These technologies comprise both point-source carbon capture as well as those capturing it directly from the air, says a report.

Takeaway:

The post-combustion carbon capture technique uses carbon-scrubbing as a means to remove the carbon released during its burning process. It takes precedence over thstoce other option due to the capability to integrate it with existing infrastructure, thus making it more investible.
