The value of private equity and venture capital deals struck worldwide plunged by 63% on a year-on-year basis in July, from $116.47bn to $43.05bn, figures compiled by S&P Global Market Intelligence show.
Takeaway:
Amid a gloomy macroeconomic backdrop of rising inflation and higher interest rates, the number of PE/VC transactions declined also last month, to 1,579, down 29.2% from 2,231 a year ago. For the year to date, total transaction value stood at $519.12bn, down 25.7% from the corresponding period last year.
