News Digest: Survey shows tepid asset allocation toward thematics
January 17, 2022
News Digest:
Over 75% of a select group of 72 fund buyers polled at the Citywire Berlin 2021 event have said that they have allocated less than 50% of their portfolios toward thematic strategies.
Meanwhile, 60% of respondents revealed that thematics accounted for less than 25% of their assets.
Takeaway:
Investor interest in secular trend-focused strategies, as opposed to more generalist approaches, still has a long way to go, as far as actual asset allocation is concerned – the increased curiosity in thematic investing notwithstanding.
